Welcome to my first attempt at a blog-type site.  My reasons for putting this up are several fold:

  • Share my extensive computer repair/troubleshooting findings with whoever wants it
  • To have a place where I can go to find out what I did the last time {x,y, or z} happened
  • Provide a useful (hopefully) list of software and hardware that I have found effective/cool/beneficial in the technology realm

Hopefully you will find this site helpful, insightful, and even a bit enjoyable…

Now for the infamous disclaimers…if you try any of the software, hardware repairs, virus/malware removal techinques, etc, you are doing it at your own risk.  I make no promises of what YOU may screw up in the process…remember…backup first, try new stuff second!

If you would like to be part of the site other than just as a reader, feel free to sign up.  I have no desire to obtain peoples’ email addresses, I just want to make sure that this site doesn’t become a hotbed of flamers, complainers and the like…

Hi Christine…glad the info could be of assistance to you! I know that the info is so critical to parents today…that is why I frequently do seminars for schools and churches on how to implement ‘safe internet’…it is truly a never ending battle/challenge!
As for the Disney Circle, it is strictly a wifi filter, which I don’t mess with, since from my perspective it only covers one portion of home internet. There are several similar devices available, which sound great and easy, but I feel they leave a gaping hole in the security and safety of your home internet…

Thank you for the reviews! I just stumbled across your site today and will definitely be following along as you add more info. I’m a mom of four and feel like I’m in way over my head with all their tech usage. I know I’m not alone in feeling powerless, as all my friends do too. I will be sure to share your site. Thank you for the work you do! Also, have you heard of Circle with Disney? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I just ran across your topic on internet filtering and I would love to purchase one of your Skydog devices for my home. I’ve been looking for something like that for months now, and as soon as I found it I also found that it was purchased/killed! If you have any available units, please let me know! Thanks!
